The Binary Code are an American progressive death metal band formed in Bergen County, New Jersey in 2004 by guitarist Jesse Zuretti. They have recorded and released several EPs and one full-length album, "Suspension of Disbelief," which was issued as a digital-only release on December 15, 2009 by popular heavy metal website MetalSucks.net.[1] The band embarked on a 30-date U.S. tour in January and February 2010 with Relapse Records artists Revocation and French experimental metal band Hypno5e.[2]
The band recently announced they have finished recording a new EP called "Priest" which is due out on August 10, 2010,[3] and will include four songs; three new compositions, plus a bonus version of the title track. The band created a limited edition of 25 "Super Special" hand-painted, autographed, and numbered jewel cases in green and purple, and another 25 "Special" edition CDs in gray,[4] all of which are available for pre-order at their own webstore. Other than the 50 limited edition CDs, the "Priest" EP will once again be available only as a digital download.
"Suspension of Disbelief" received a number of accolades and press including reviews in both Decibel[5] and Revolver magazines, and coverage on notable websites such as AOL's Noisecreep[6] and Lambgoat.com.[7] The album was recorded by the band and engineer Paulie Cutri, and was mixed by Kevin Antreassian (The Number Twelve Looks Like You, Knife the Glitter).
Current touring bassist Brett Bamberger has also played in the bands Postman Syndrome, Biclops, Day Without Dawn and East of the Wall.
